Hey JK,

Just read through your piece. This is prolly the first thing I’ve read that takes the non-violent sentiment all the way down to the bottom. I admit that when I get some temporary pleasure from revenge, I end up feeling worthless inside. But what about other people man? What do you have to offer people who don’t feel this way other than your disgust?

I recall when I heard of the execution of Ted Bundy then the murder of Jeffrey Dahmer. Many people I knew rejoiced, but I did not. Without excusing their crimes, I suspected that Jesus would not be happy. And, as a Christian, I try to do what he would do.
Today I had yesterday’s events on my mind when I wrote another of my lectionary-based devotions. The hints of this are there.

Wow- what a well thought out and well writen piece. I am inclined for the most part to agree with you, although I do believe that if Osama was behind 9/11, killing him was a matter of self defense. I generally do not believe in the use of force, but for self defense I would not hesitate to use it. Having said that, we really have no business in Iraq, Afganistan, or Libya. I have bookmarked your site and intend to read some of your fiction when I have a little more time… Cheers

Interestng story, a father turning into a mouse. The words are very colorful. It painted a vivid picture in my mind.

Good piece to read to start my morning off. It is not very often that people examine what lies beneath. I like the idea of tightly managed personas – I always just described such as a facade. Your description adds more depth and shows complexity of human nature.

This is by far, the best piece you have ever written. There is a “real artistic” honesty shining through. Funny with the cocks in the background, helicopters, vehicles etc. There were a few, very very few rough patches eg “organic” is not a word often associated with the human body. But I am nit picking. Nevertheless, it is an amazing piece. It was really refreshing to hear this piece. I wonder like the previous comment, where you got this inspiration from. Have you ever been in love?

I went to nursing school at Bellevue in the 1960′s and worked in the Psych department after graduation. I enjoyed reading your comments about Bellevue. It brought back many memories.
